The Small Print-the Need to Know

Made To Order

What does "made to order" mean? It means I make each piece when it is ordered to your specifications. For the Gauge Rings, for example, it means as soon as I get your order I cast, file, ream, sand, and polish your ring in your size. The great thing about that is that I can customize your jewelry when you order it. Need a quarter size? Just let me know in your order notes.

Ready Made Items

Unique and ready made items, like the stamped cuffs will ship out the day after you place your order. Instant gratification!

Turn-around Time

Each ring is hand-finished, so it takes time to make each one. Right now the estimated turn-around time, the time it takes from the moment you place your order to when I ship your ring or any made to order item to you is about 3-4 weeks. If I think it might take longer, I will let you know via email. I strive to be transparent and honest about the process, and I want you to be happy with your jewelry.

Orders received before 5pm Central Time, Monday-Friday will be sent into casting that same day. Orders placed in the evening will go in the next day, and over the weekend on Monday.

If I am on the road and expect delays, I will post a message on the site so that there are no surprises.

Materials

The sterling silver used in our jewelry is made of silver (92.5%) and copper, and is nickle free. I also use 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose, and white. I can also make your items in other precious metals, please inquire for a quote. (I do not make jewelry in brass or stainless steel.)

Accuracy of Gauge Jewelry

As knitters and crotcheters you already know that our needles and hooks sometimes have only a difference of .25 mm between one size and the next. But did you also know that needle sizes have changed over the years and in between brands? This means that sometimes a needle will fit through the smaller gauge hole, even though the ring is technically accurate. I test each ring with a variety of needles that I have measured with digital calipers to ensure they are the listed size. I am only human, so if you do find a mistake please let me know. But also, please check with more needles first if you can. (Especially size 4 and size 9 needles, they are the most inconsistent in my experience.)

Shipping and Returns

Shipping:

Shipping is calculated according the piece's weight, and does include insurance.

Also, please double check your shipping address to be sure it is correct. Seriously.

Shipping to Canada and rest of world:

Any item valued over $20 CAD (and that means anything you buy here) is subject to your Provincial tax, plus and handling fee of $9.95 CAD. Customs is inconsistent about checking packages to charge this fee, but it is a good  possibility.

For Europe and Australia, I encourage you to look into customs or import fees to your country. You will be charged customs fees, so please take that into account before ordering online. Please note, if you order and then decline to pay the customs fees, I will not return you shipping fees if I get the item(s) back. If I do not, I reserve the right to not return your money. Please, be sure you are comfortable paying customs and taxes upon the arrival of your purchase.

Returns and Exchanges:

I want you to be happy with your purchase, so of course I will accept your returns or exchanges (with the exception of custom made items*).

Items must be in new condition in order to receive a full refund/exchange value.

Refunds will be issued for items returned within 30 days of receipt, subject to the re-stocking fee outlined below. Exchanges can be made for a year after a receipt, also subject to the re-stocking fee.

If the jewelry needs to be re-polished or repaired there will be a restocking fee of up to 30% of the original cost. (Unless something really went wrong, but we'll handle that on a case by case basis. But, you wouldn't beat up your jewelry like that, now would you?)

I do not refund shipping fees, since I have already spent them on shipping. However, I will pay for shipping back to you, and you pay to ship it to me. I wish I could cover it all, but I am a very small business. Thanks for understanding.

All gold jewelry returned or exchanged is subject to a 30% restocking fee, no matter the condition of the ring, unless the fault was mine.

*Custom made jewelry is not exchangeable or refundable, unless it is something I can easily resell. Once you have agreed to the design for a custom piece, you have committed to it. As of May 15, 2023 I will be asking for $50 deposit before I begin designing your jewelry. If you accept the design, the $50 will be applied to the final price of your custom item. If you reject the design, the $50 pays me for my design work.

Payment Issues:

There has been an uptick in payments marked as high risk for fraud, and I have learned the hard way not to take those payments. As of July 20, 2020 if an order arrives flagged for fraud, I will send one email in order to see if it can be cleared up to my satisfaction, and if it isn't, I will cancel the order, and refund the purchase. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
